Overdraft Protection

We’ve got you covered!

Overdraft protection plans allow other funding sources to cover your transactions.  These plans may be less costly than our standard overdraft practices.

Another AVB account can be linked to your checking account if you inadvertently overdraw your account.

This can apply to all types of overdraft transactions, such as:

  • Checks
  • ACH, point-of-sale
  • ATM withdrawals
  • In-person withdrawals or by other electronic debits

Occasional Overdraft Privilege Service or OOPS*
With OOPS, your transactions are covered up to $600.00.  If you inadvertently overdraw your account, AVB has the option to cover your overdrafts up to your OOPS limit (including fees).

This unique service prevents you from incurring any return check fees resulting from the merchant. Certain requirements apply.

*Accounts will be charged the standard NSF or Overdraft fee of $36 for handling each overdraft created by check, ACH, Point-of-Sale, ATM withdrawal, in-person withdrawal, or other electronic item that is paid and $36 for items returned.  On the fifth (5th) calendar day that your account remains overdrawn, you will be charged a $15 Continuous Overdraft Fee. On Calendar days 6 – 10 you will be charged a $10 Recurring Overdraft Fee on each day that your account remains overdrawn (maximum $65 combined).  An overdrawn account must be brought to a positive balance within thirty-five (35) days for a minimum of one business day. We may not pay items under your OOPS! if you do not maintain your account in good standing by bringing your account to a positive balance within every thirty-five (35) day period for a minimum of one business day, if you default on any loan or other obligation to AVB or if your account is subject to any legal or administrative order or levy.

Savings Overdraft Protection Plan or SOPP
A Savings Overdraft Protection Plan links another AVB deposit account to your checking account to cover any overdraft transactions.  An annual fee and transfer fees apply.

Overdraft Line of Credit Plan or ODP**
An Overdraft Line of Credit Plan links an AVB line of credit to your checking account to pay overdraft transactions for a fee.
**Subject to credit approval
